Inside
Trinity Church at Broadway and Wall street. Beautiful
architecture, woodwork and stained glass. |
Trinity Church has a beautiful pipe organ, and a music service around
noon every day. |
Outside the church is a small graveyard and garden. It's a peaceful
place - a true sanctuary. |
Along the waterfront we found this sculpture created in honor of the
USA merchant marines who perished during the war. |
We took the ferry to Staten Island, which is a free ferry trip that
happens to sail by the Statue of Liberty. Tourists can also pay $10 to
take a small boat out to the statue, but the statue itself is closed to
the public. |
A couple from England took our photo, with the Statue of Liberty in
the background. |
To walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, we first had to walk underneath
it. |
Seems that you can sometimes find beauty in unexpected places. |
From the Brooklyn Bridge you can get a good view of Lower
Manhattan. It takes about half an hour to walk across the bridge
one way (if you walk slowly). Quite a few people were running or cycling
across, and lots of families were out for a stroll. |
